Print & Graphic Communications Association and Idealliance have announced that Dianne Kennedy, XML & Metadata Evangelist Emeritus, Idealliance, Paul Nowak, Director of Customer Experience,  QuadPackaging  and Canon Solutions America, for their thINK: Inkjet Networking and Knowledge Community, will be honored with the inaugural 2016 Innovation Excellence Awards, and that Mark Darlow, Founder/Lifetime Trustee/Past President, Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation, has been selected as recipient of the 2016 Zenger Community Service Medal.

The awards will be presented at the annual Franklin Luminaire Awards gala at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, New York, NY, on October 19th, 5:30 pm-10 pm. As announced previously, also to be honored at the event are Chris Dunn of American Express, Jerry Faust of Time, Inc., and Steve Zenger of the Zenger Group, who will receive 2016 Luminaire Awards, and noted journalist and author Armen Keteyian, who has been named recipient of the 2016 Franklin Award for Distinguished Service.

“We are pleased to inaugurate our new Innovation Excellence Award with such worthy recipients as Dianne, Paul, and Canon Solutions America,” says Steve Drew, Co-Chair of the 2016 Franklin Luminaire Awards Committee. “The Innovation Excellence Award was established to recognize a company or individual in graphic and visual communications who is pioneering, pacesetting, and advancing new technologies—innovators who are moving our industry into the future, and that is certainly true of our first three recipients.

“The Zenger Medal, named after Colonial-era printer and freedom of the press trailblazer John Peter Zenger, honors a graphic communications professional who has demonstrated exceptional community service, making our community a better place to live or serving our country in ways that make us proud,” says Meghan Milkowski, 2016 Franklin Luminaire Awards Co-Chair. “Mark’s decades of service to the industry and his extraordinary volunteer work on behalf of numerous charitable causes, both within and outside the industry, exemplify the ideals of the Zenger Medal.”
