The Technical Inquiry Desk provides unbiased advice and solutions to technical problems.  Typical inquiries include ink and coatings, paper stock, image register, plates, MIS, and other production issues.  This free telephone consulting service has given countless member printers immediate and practical solutions for technical and/or production problems. 

HR and EHS Listserves

Printing Executive Network (PEN)

The PEN group program was established to promote educational growth with sound business management, provided through small permanent groups.  These groups are comprised of companies of similar markets and size, but with a geographic distribution so as to avoid competitive conflict.  This encourages PEN group members to share and critique very detailed information among the group.  In each PEN group there are 6 to 12 non-competing company presidents.  PEN groups generally meet quarterly with an agenda totally developed by group members. 

Laboratory Services

Lab services staff has over four decades of industry experience in evaluating materials used in the graphic communications industry.  Lab services are used in a variety of circumstances, including:

  • Ongoing submission of materials as a quality control measure to ensure products are consistent and reliable.
  • Analytical evaluations of material on jobs that did not go as planned.
